Massachusetts General Colored Association is established.

[1828] It is founded by David Walker and others. The first abolitionist organization in Boston (the first in the U.S. was the Pennsylvania Society for the Abolition of Slavery in 1775), it is said to be the first African-American political organization in the U.S. The organization merges with the New England Anti-Slavery Society in 1833.
